It relies on a conventional Gregorian Calendar algorithm, which automatically takes into consideration leap years (29 th February), the number of days within a month (28, 30, or 31 days).

Mode 1: Days Between Two Dates

Knowing the Gregorian Calendar.

The Gregorian Calendar, the introduction of which in 1582 by Pope Gregory XIII fixed the wandering Julian Calendar, is the international standard of reckonings of time.

Standard Year: 365 days.
Leap Year: 366 days (adds Feb 29). Leap every 4 years, except a year that can be divided by 100 and not 400 (i.e. 1900 was not a leap year but 2000 was).

Working Days & Holidays

A working day or a business day is usually considered as Monday-Friday without including the public days.
United States: New Year Day, Independence Day (July 4), Thanksgiving and Christmas are considered as the standard federal holidays.

Questions and Answers (FAQs).

What is the formula of days between two dates?
The difference between the start date and end date is enough. But, you have to take into consideration the days of each month (30 vs 31) and the leap years. This is done automatically by our date duration calculator.

Does it have the end date?
Most calculations of dates are, by default, of the duration (time elapsed). In case you wish to have the last day (e.g. at the end of rental period), just add 1 day to the answer.

What is the number of days between today and 90?
Click on the “Add to Date” tab. Select today in the date field, click on Add then type in the number of days, i.e. 90. The tool will provide you with the precise date of the future.

What is a leap year?
Leap year is done after every 4 years to ensure that our calendar synchronises with the revolutions of the Earth with the Sun. It adds one extra day (Feb 29). The next leap year is 2028.

Can I calculate age with this?
Yes. When you use your date of birth date as start date and today as the end date, you will know the number of years, months and days that you are actually.

Hints to Raise the Right Calculation.

• Check the Year: Make sure you do have the right year as far as the dates in late December or early January are concerned.
• Business vs. Calendar: It must always be noted that a deadline can either be a calendar day (including weekends) or a business day (excluding weekends).This brings a massive difference in the final date.
• Time Zones: This calculator takes the date as it is typed. It fails to take into consideration time zone differences (e.g. both dates in the same place).
